What I Wore Sunday :: Vol 4

I absolutely love participating in the What I Wore Sunday hosted by Fine Linen & Purple. So many fabulous ladies! Today I was feeling colorful in what I chose to wear. I would have loved to add a cute skinny belt to my waist, but with a breastfeeding baby that obviously is not going to happen. Also I had a necklace to wear but it was getting in my way holding babe! I'm waiting for lunch to finish on the stove (spanish rice) & it's about done.. so let me give you the run down!

Boob design red maternity stretch jeans, which seem more like a dark pink/coral color to me.
Top is new from Kohls Apt 9, which I just bought this week on sale.
Luichiny Temp Ted boots from Demand Shoes.
ShopKo earrings on sale (old).
Mix of stacked bracelets (silver, gold and pearls) from NY& Co & Old Navy (old.)

If you're wearing maternity or nursing.. I have a top giveaway from Milan Maternity if you're interested!

Question : how do you accessorize when you have a nursing baby or wee one? I find myself doing less of it because it's always in the way.. well not always, but a lot of the time.

  1. Love the colored jeans! I so want a pair myself, but my body fluctuates so much with the constant pregnancy/nursing/pregnant again that it's just not worth it for something that'll only fit for a few months!

Scarves are my accessory of choice when nursing - belts only work with tops you can pull down to nurse, and since I'm nursing twins I pretty much have to be wearing something with instant access from both sides! Scarves work well to add some coverage or work as a makeshift cover if baby is squirmy (or decides to pop off and spray milk all over the place! patterned scarves are a must in this case...). It's definitely tough to maintain a good sense of style when you're limited by access to boobs!

    1. Thanks Rosie! I love colored jeans but have been the same as you. I'm always changing as well.. pregnant & nursing for sure. :) I've been seeing them a lot of sale lately. I got some from Kohls for $15 last week. Typically I wouldn't since I'm still transtioning back into clothing but I have like no pants. Ha!!

I like the scarf thing, it can get it the way but easy to move and at least soft for my little guy. This is the first time I'm really using a nursing cover & it's working great. Helps with the spraying milk for sure & dark these light shirts, I'm leaking horribly and if I use pads you can see them. Gah!!

I can't imagine nursing twins, you are amazing!! :) God is good.

  2. I love your colorful bright color combo! That seemed redundant, sorry! I end up accessorizing as I usually do, with scarves, earrings and necklaces. The baby will pull on the earrings, and yes has broken a few of my necklaces by pulling on them but thankfully they are usually cheap. I never let him put it in his mouth. AND whenever we have our next baby, I'm totally getting one of these: http://www.mommynecklaces.com/Nourish-Necklace_p_492.html

    1. Megan... I seem to remember having to take a break from accessories with the others but for some reason they seem troublesome sooner this time. Maybe I'm crazy. I'll check out the necklace u mention. I've had mommy necklaces before and wasn't a huge fan. Thanks for the compliment :

  4. Love the color-blocking and the choice of colors to do that with. The top fits you beautifully. I still don't look that good post-artum and my "baby" is 20! LOL!

    1. Thanks Mary. I worked really hard to get my muscle separation back after my last birth.. and it really helped with bouncing back this pregnancy. Still a little ways to get out of my maternity, but I'm happy. :)

  5. I hear ya about the accessories. I have a quite a bit of share with necklaces and now baby girl always tugs on them. I had a Saint bracelet but she pulled and broke it during Mass the other week. LOL. So the only thing asides from scarves and belts are earrings and my scapular. I think I'm ok with that. And kinda like those Mommy necklaces, I have seen some wooden ones on Etsy.

    2. Thank you.. that's so sweet of u. :) I feel good after having these babes and worked hard to get back to a new mommy normal after my last pregnancy.. hoping to do that again. I'm okay with no accessories for now too.. or at least the majority of the time. :)

  6. Cute outfit. I like this new series of posts. :-) I don't accessorize at all, and my baby is a year old. Since I still carry her a lot since she doesn't walk yet, and she likes to grab things, I wear pretty much nothing as far as jewelry. I have little silver ball stud earrings (which she still tries to grab) and my ring (which she also tries to grab). There was a time after Karina was born and before Elena came along where I could wear jewelry again, but now I have to wait again. Someday, I will carry a purse and wear necklaces. But not for a little while! OH, I did wear one of those nursing/teething necklaces for a little while. Almost forgot.

  8. I love the color combo. I'm never ever brave enough to combine two bright colors, which is stupid, since I always like seeing it when other people do.
